[ unless rin wanted to make an appointment with mother from hell to get a new spine affixed, he would have to make do with being the human he was. the cons of the collar outweighed the benefits by leagues and if he sticks to heine with the same trajectory, he would find that out on close experience soon enough.. ]
[ the problem with being a kid whose worst injury has been a skinned knee or a broken finger: he doesn't really understand any of this. the "powers" that so many of his peers have seem like something that should be delegated to a fantasy world. hopefully moving forward will help all of that change, solidify the reality into something he can believe. ]
